London Heathrow to Singapore Flights

Since its inception as a military airport for the British Flying Corps in the early years of the twentieth century, Heathrow Airport has remained a symbol of proficiency and success for Britain. With almost 70 million passengers passing through the doors every year, it is without doubt that Heathrow Airport plays not just a vital role for holiday makers, but a vital role in business too.

The 187 destinations that Heathrow Airport reaches are essential in supporting businesses and making those out of reach destinations so easily accessible. As the Western World increasingly looks East for its business needs, Heathrow Airport naturally takes a leading role in bringing people together.

There are three main services offering flights from Heathrow Airport to Singapore, British Airways, has 4 flights a day, 2 of which form the BA & Qantas Partnership, and Singapore Airlines have increased the number of flights between Heathrow and Singapore to 11 times a week.

Singapore Airport
Serving over 180 cities with its 80 airlines, Singapore Airport has a handling capacity for 70 million passengers a year which is perhaps a testament to the exceptional planning and standards employed. The airport was one of the largest single development projects in Singapore’s history and it took almost six years from the decision to build a new airport in Changi to the completion of the ‘first phase’ in 1981.

Parking Facilities In and Around Singapore Airport
The airport has five car parks, one in Terminal 1, two in Terminal 2 and another 2 in Terminal 3. Whilst motorists are free to park in any of the car parks, there is no designated long term parking area. All parking areas have a 10-minute grace period for drop off/pick up but charges apply after this time has lapsed. All car parks are managed by an electronic parking system with payment at the exit via cash card or an Auto-pass.

Airport Distance From Singapore and Other Notable Surrounding Locations
Changi Airport is located 20km (13 miles) northeast of the city of Singapore. The East Coast Parkway toll road runs directly between the airport and the city centre. Visitors to the city will find Singapore to be a great contrast of ancient and modern, with key attractions being the world famous Raffles Hotel, China Town and the Singapore Botanic Gardens. With the city being no more than a half hour drive from the airport, even short stay visitors will have plenty to do.

Transport links to Singapore Airport
There are several pick up points around the airport where travellers can find taxis that will take them into the city from around S$18.00, however, it is more cost effective to take the Airport shuttle which is a 9-seater coach and serves all the major hotels in Singapore. Rail users need only walk to Terminals 2 and 3 to catch the Changi Airport MRT Station with fares to the city costing just S$2.70 and takes less than half an hour. Public buses, limousines and car rentals are also available and can be easily arranged from within the airport.
