London Heathrow to Madrid Flights

Heathrow Airport
From its roots as a military airfield during the First World War, Heathrow has grown into a 2 runway 5 terminal facility handling more international passenger traffic than any other airport in the world. The airport has undergone constant redevelopment to meet the demands of growing passenger volumes. Work is currently underway to refurbish terminals 3 and 4, and there are plans for a third runway. British Airways and Iberia operate daily flights from London Heathrow to Madrid as well as budget airline BMI. Flights from Heathrow to Madrid take just two hours and twenty minutes, making the Spanish capital an ideal destination for a weekend break.

Madrid Airport
In 1928 a stretch of arid wasteland at Barajas, close to Madrid, was chosen as the site for the city’s airport. The first flights to Madrid began in 1931 and eighty years on, over 40 million passengers a year pass through its 3 terminals. The facility has undergone massive expansion in recent years with the construction of a new terminal and two brand new runways to respond to the demands of the 21st century.

Parking facilities in and around Madrid Airport
Several spacious and secure car parks are provided for passengers flying to and from Madrid. Areas P1 and P2 serve as both short and long-term parking options while there is also a dedicated long-stay car park serviced by a free shuttle bus service to the terminals. The airport’s Parking Express area is designated for passenger drop-offs and pick-ups.
